June 25th at 3 PM: The French Butter Crock Workshop
Originating in 19th-century France, the butter crock was designed as a beautiful and functional way to store butter without refrigeration. Using a small amount of water to create an airtight seal, it keeps butter fresh, soft, and ready to enjoy—preventing spoilage and rancidity.
During this workshop on Thursday, June 25th at 3PM, I will guide you through step by step instructions as we create your own butter crock-- while enjoying fresh sourdough bread from Bluebell Bakehouse bread paired with rich, grass-fed butter. Once complete, you will choose your glaze of choice for your piece. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 3-4 weeks after the workshop, depending on drying time.
Sparkling and still water will be provided. You are welcome to bring a beverage of your choice to enjoy alongside the bread and butter. The cost includes all materials, glazing, and post-firing completed by DeNai. A minimum age requirement, 13 years of age.
DeNai Jones Ceramics is located at 365 E Santa Clara Street in historic downtown Ventura.
