FIGURE STUDIES BY CANDLELIGHT

A beginner-friendly exploration of the female form through clay, held Friday evening, September 4th at 6:30 PM in the studio by candlelight.  

In this two-hour workshop, ceramicist DeNai Jones will guide you through the fundamentals of sculpting the female figure. This workshop is designed to be approachable, thoughtful, and creatively freeing.  We will be exploring proportion, gesture, perspective, clay body, and technique. No previous clay or sculpture experience is necessary. 

Working by candlelight, we’ll focus less on perfection and more on learning to see—studying the movement, balance, and expressive qualities of the human form. You’ll be guided through the process of building and refining two small figurative studies, each offering an opportunity to explore a different pose and approach.

The workshop fee includes all clay, tools, materials, firing, and post-workshop finishing completed by DeNai. This purchase is for one attendee.

Finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately four weeks after the workshop, depending on drying and firing schedules. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old.

Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and sips to enjoy during the session.
